In this audio story, a Tennessee woman named Nita speaks about being a domestic violence survivor. Not only did she encounter the dangers of a violent relationship, but so did her children. Today, Nita strives to help and encourage women and to let them know that there is always a way out.

Amber Lockridge graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2018 and majored in journalism. This piece is part of a course in which students reported on issues related to domestic violence.
